Direct replacement for a T-86 transmission for 4wd applications with a D-18 or D-20 T-case. This transmission uses a T-86 case with all new T-90 gears and shafts for a good replacement over the weak true T-86 with the helical-cut L-R slider. The transmissions has new gears, bearings, gaskets, seals, cluster shaft, synchros, small parts and a new pilot bushing. Core charge is $700 (all that is required for this core charge is the usable case with front and rear bearing retainers). A replacement shift tower is included with the transmission because the shift forks are different.
The T-86 was a 3 speed transmission produced from 1966-1967. This is a duplicate of the original, converted to take T-90 gears(which held up better anyway) it is a direct replacement and only a very trained eye could tell. You will need to convert your shift tower to fit the new gears. This process can be done by us if you are unable to for $150 in parts and labor.
